Premier League
First English Division

The Premier League, also known as The Premiership is the most important and top-notch competition in English football.
It began to be played in 1992 and before separating from the English soccer league and becoming a private competition, it was called Football League First Division. This separation was a huge sum of money for television rights that made the Barclays Premier League in the next decade (from 2002 to 2009) in the best football league in the world ahead of the Spanish and Italian league.
COMPETITION RULES They play 20 teams that face each other in round-trip matches. In total, 38 matches have to be played by each English club. The victory means 3 points. The tie 1 point and the defeat does not score. The first four classified teams enter the UEFA Champions League. From fifth to seventh place they would opt for the UEFA Cup or Europa League depending on the results of other competitions.
