It began to be played in 1992 and before separating from the English soccer league and becoming a private competition, it was called Football League First Division. COMPETITION RULES They play 20 teams that face each other in round-trip matches. In total, 38 matches have to be played by each English club. The victory means 3 points. The tie 1 point and the defeat does not score. The first four classified teams enter the UEFA Champions League.
